NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
♦DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP TIMES
As a reminder, parents whose children who are in the French Track must park their car and drop-off/pick-up their children at the gate at all times. Parents whose children are in our Spanish track use the Curb Side Area in the mornings for drop-off and pick-up. (for more detailed information about pick-up and drop-off, please refer to pages 5 & 6 in your parent handbook)
♦ENSURING THE COMFORT OF STUDENTS
Little ones love to play, and of course they should! Please make sure you’re sending your student to school every day wearing comfortable shoes. Ideally children should be wearing close-toe shoes that they are able to put on and take off on their own. Also, parents please be sure to label all of your child’s belongings so that should they be left behind, we can return them to you.
WELCOME POTLUCK
Our first school-wide event of the year will be held at Stagecoach Park on October 7, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This potluck event is the perfect way to meet other parents, and reinforce the friendships your children have made with one another. Please bring with your your ‘signature dish’. Whether it’s a cultural traditional dish, or simply your family’s favorite dish. Please fill out the form that will be at school in the coming week to let us know what you’ll be bringing. Also, please be sure to bring a picnic blanket and chairs to comfortably enjoy our park potluck.
– Please remember to confirm your attendance and to bring your favorite dish to share. It’s going to be fun!
FOOD PREPARATION
Please remember we will start our Food Preparation time next week on 09/18. Children will be participating in cooking their own snacks as a class. We ask that parents bring ingredients to contribute. You’ll find more detail information about your group in the e-mails that will be going out this week. We are looking forward to engaging the children in making snacks for themselves!

IMPORTANT NOTES
♦FOLDERS
Parents, please be sure to complete and return all forms that were given to you in the folders you received at parent orientation. We understand that certain forms like the physician report may take some time as you’ll need to set up an appointment with your child’s physician, but please be sure to return all forms as soon as possible.
♦PICTURE DAY
We will not be having school-wide picture day this year as we did last year. It was expressed to us from parents, that they’d prefer to have their child’s photo taken with their own photographers.
♦OPEN HOUSE & PARENT CONFERENCES
Open House and Parent Conferences will be held from October 2nd thru October 20. Sign-up forms will be set-up and sent out so that parents can sign up for their preferred day. We will only have a maximum of 3 parents per group per day. Please keep an eye out for more news and to sign-up for your spot.
Parent Committee Corner
On behalf of the Parent Committee, we would like to sincerely thank you for expressing interest in helping us make this school year the best one yet! As mentioned at Orientation, we will be reaching out as volunteer opportunities arise.
Our biggest need at this time is securing parent facilitators for all communities. As a reminder, Parent Facilitators serve as an email communications point of contact at the classroom level. Please note that this is not a super active role and very little time will be required.
We are hoping that a few of you can help fill in the gaps. Please note that ideally you would want to choose the community your child attends. If you are interested please send us an email to jardin@linguanatal.com
